Jaya Beemon Foundation
Jaya Beemon was a spark of life with a great spirit, and glowing smile. She was very social, easy going with a warm and friendly nature. Jaya’s outgoing personality attracted many friends and acquaintances.
Jaya Beemon was a college freshman studying to become a Registered Nurse. She stopped at her mother’s school after her last class on Tuesday February 25, 2020 enroute to the Shedd Aquarium with a friend. That was the last time her mother saw her alive! Jaya had an enjoyable day at the aquarium before traveling back to her friends house, where her mother was scheduled to pick her up. Jaya and her friend stopped at the store located at 7901 S. Avalon for snacks. Shortly after they arrived three individuals shot blindly and cowardly in the store full of patrons, committing a mass shooting, wounding four individuals and taking Jaya’s life. Jaya had dreams and goals. The Jaya Beemon Foundation NFP (501C3) was started in her honor to change the way adolescents and young adults result to violence on others. |
