The Jaya Beemon Foundation Ambassadors for Change Membership.
A Change Ambassador is a person who represents this foundation’s mission, vision and goals to change the way adolescents and young adults result to violence on others. The Jaya Beemon Foundation aim is to instill hope and build confidence so one can know there is another alternative. If one values their own life, they will value another.
The Jaya Beemon Foundation Change Members support will go towards our programs that are geared towards decreasing poverty thus decreasing crime. Our programs include the Educate Chicago Initiative Warm up Chicago Initiative, our Warrior Moms support group and our peer support groups.
Educate Chicago Initiative: Jaya Beemon Foundation aims to get adolescents and young adults funding for programs that offer them direct link to employment. Educate Chicago initiative aims to provide educational programs on financial literacy. To be included Personal, business credit, Stock market (Crypto Currency and FT), assets, mutual funds trust etc. The Educate Chicago Initiative also is geared towards providing help and support to future entrepreneurs. We believe crime follows poverty. Decrease the poverty thus decrease the crime. We will be offering careers that lead to direct employment in the high demanding medical field. Training for Nursing Assistants, Phlebotomist, EKG Technicians, Dialysis Technicians, Behavioral Health Techs etc. This program will also fund the Jaya Beemon Nursing Scholarship available at Malcolm X College.
Warm up Chicago Initiative: Provides support during the Chicago winter months. Our adolescents and young adults package and distribute warm up bundles to local shelters. Our warm up bundles include: gloves, hand warms, hats, scarfs, socks and mask). We are instilling the value of giving back to the community to our adolescents and young adults. This falls under our foundations ‘Instilling hope and building Confidence “motto.
Warrior Moms of Chicago: Is a support group for moms who lost their child to violence in Chicago. The support group support moms during their grief process. Under this initiative we offer grief counseling and one to one counseling through licensed therapists.
Peer Support Group: Peer Support groups are support groups for adolescents and young adults. This group support them in coping with real life situations. The participants also let us know the things that can be done to reach their age group. The things that they will think can change the way adolescents and young adults result in violence. The peer support group also give a stipend for their participation.
